About Aftercare Charles Town 


Aftercare Charles Town was formed in 2013 to help Charles Town horsemen find homes for horses ending their racing careers. It is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to the rehoming and repurposing of retired racehorses that are ending their racing careers at Charles Town Races.

Since our inception, we have facilitated the placement of over 450 retired racehorses in safe and appropriate new homes.

The majority of ACT's funding comes from a fee assessed on every horse that races at Charles Town, and from the generous support of our sponsors and private donors.
